Booksigning in Heerlen on Tuesday January 27, 2009 by Liam

I had to be at 12.30, at the information-desk of the trainstation.
Railway man should help me to get into the train of 12.38 to Heerlen.
They’ve pushed me into the train, hoppaaa, hahahaha.
At the trainstation into Heerlen, another railway man; pushed me out of the train… hahaha, sorry,sorry.
The railway man were very kind to me!
He took me to a way out of the trainstation, nearby the “Corio-centre”, the shopping-centre, Derek should came to.
Thank you, railway man!!

Ohoo, a problem.
I stood at the frontage of the shopping-centre, there was only a “revolving door” to get into the centre.
I asked people on the street,to help me. I can’t use such doors on my own.
Thank you people for helping me!!!

At the shopping-centre, I found the bookstore very fast.
I asked a saleswoman, at which part of the shop Derek should come.
Do you want to have a number, she asked me. Ow yes, ofcourse!!!
Do you have a book, for Derek to sign?? No I said, I don’t have a book.
Ow, the saleswoman said, then I don’t know; if Derek wants to sign something for you.
Oh yes he will, I said. (Even when it is my bottom, was going through my mind with a big smile, hahaha.) 
I got number 42. WOW 42!!! It will be rush hour, tralalala.
I walked to the part of the shop, Derek should come to.
Somebody called me, Liam, are you Liam?? Yes that’s me, I said and who are you??
I am “Mathilde”.
Hey how nice, (we knew eachother from Hyves and the fanclub.)
Mathilde asked me to join her, this afternoon. Yes why not, ofcourse, I said!
“Ruth”, “Debbie” and “Susan” were standing at the table infront of us.

It was almost 3 o’clock, more people came into the shop, tralalala…
Derek arrived I think at 15.10.
He told us about the signsession, he gave an interview at ”the Limburgs Dagblad”, he sang and danced: “we are family….” and gave us sweets.
He said hello to me, yes Derek, good to see you too.
People with children and pregnant woman, went first to Derek.
We also sang Happy Birthday to “Sjors”, the son of “Lilian”. It was his 10th birthday today.
I should meet Lilian (both her son, Sjors and Tjeu) and girlfriend “Marjo”.
I knew Lilian and Marjo from the fanclub. yes Derek, we are almost one big family, (what was the name of that song again..)
We have spoken eachother a couple a minutes.

It was 4 o’clock, they’ve called for number…1
Oh dear, number 1? Some girls behind me, got number 144…..
I have spoken to a lot of people, they were overwhelmed with emotion.
They just met Derek and said, he is such a toff guy!!!
Derek stood on his table again and told us, they keep the shop open and I will stay till the last person has left.
Whoopie, people said.  and so did I, OK Dereky welcome to your rush hour….

Number 42!!! Yes, that is me…
I gave Derek my letter, he said: I have a whole library of you already.
(that is perfect Derek, you don’t have to get bored, hahaha)
He signed a card for a girlfriend and I told him, we are going to meet again in about 82 days.
82 days, Derek said 
Yes Derek, in about 82 days is the Meet Derek Day, I have counted the days….
It was nice to talk, to hug and to kiss Derek again. (I feel good, tralalala… so good….)

Mathilde and I went to a small restaurant, nearby the bookstore and ordered tea, mmmm
I looked at my watch and said, Oh my… it is already 17.25 !!!!
We had to go back to the shop at 6 o’clock. (the shop should close at 6 o’clock)
Guess what…….Derek is singing the song “Mandy” from Barry Mannilow.
Ehum, I just left the store and he starts to sing, couldn’t you wait for me Derek, hahaha.

At once a saw a lady, also with a ” stick for the blind”.
I walked to her and started to talk. I asked her, if she was a member of the library http://www.aangepast-lezen.nl Yes she was.
I told her: both books of Derek will come on audio CD in October this year, and the book: the Baby Mind Reader, will come in Braille very soon. (I have ordered all 3 of them)
No, she couldn’t read braille, but it felt good to hear, about Derek his books, will come on audio CD at the library.
Her name is “Marleen” and daughter “Rabanna” out of Valkenburg.

At this moment, the girls with number 144, went to Derek, whoopi, finally!!!
Marleen and I (two almost blind birds…)got on a photo with Derek.
Thank you Derek and Marleen, this was funny.

Derek got tired and hungry, it was getting late.
We were almost the last people at the shop.
After saying Derek goodbye, we (Marleen, Rabanna, Mathilde and I) left the shop at almost 8 o’clock!!!

Mathilde and I have eaten something at the trainstation and Mathilde walked with me to the platform and train.
I got the train of 20.23 back to Den Bosch. I was tired, very tired….
But… my day was more than perfect!!!
Thank you Mathilde, all people at the bookstore and ofcourse: that toff guy Derek!!
